Dr. Daniel Conway grew up in the suburban Detroit area. He served four years in the U.S. Air Force as an Airborne Communications Specialist whose job was to help launch the U.S. nuclear arsenal in the event of an attack. He obtained a top-secret security clearance and was promoted to instructor status and earned a rare, early promotion.
He graduated with his Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) degree in 1997 from Northwestern Health Sciences University (NWHSU) and was quickly hired by the college to train interns as a clinic supervisor of the Burnsville Natural Care Center. Soon to follow was a promotion to Clinic Director of the Minneapolis clinic located on the campus of Abbot Northwestern hospital. Primary roles in this position included patient care, budgeting, intern education and clinic management.
After several years, Dr. Conway merged the Minneapolis Natural Care Center with the larger ChiroCenter Clinic located in the Uptown area. He continued to manage the overall clinic operations while maintaining patient care and intern education. In 2004, Dr. Conway was presented with an opportunity to purchase the clinic from NWHSU. He considers it an honor to purchase a clinic with such a rich history. Originally a private residence built in the late 1800's, 2201 Hennepin Avenue has been a chiropractic office since the early 1950's. Thousands of local residents have received care in this historic clinic.
Dr. Conway did not stay away from the college for long. Shortly after purchasing Uptown Natural Care Center, he became a member of the Clinic Based Internship (CBI) program - geared at pairing chiropractic students with mentor Doctor's of Chiropractic. He continues to enjoy teaching in this capacity.
Recognizing his fear of public speaking, Dr. Conway decided to search for a teaching position where he could overcome the fear using his passion for teaching. He was appointed Adjunct Faculty at NWHSU and taught Cardio-Pulmonary which focus's on sport physicals, diagnosis and conservative management of heart and lung related issues.
Dr. Conway serves on the Council of Chiropractic Education (CCE) whose purpose is evaluating standards of education for chiropractic colleges throughout the country. In addition, he proudly serves as the Vice President of the South Hennepin Business Association Board of Directors which promotes strong business relationships in the Uptown, Lowry Hill, and Wedge neighborhoods.
He teaches running injury prevention seminars for the Running Room, and teaches work injury prevention for companies like The Wedge Co-op. Dr. Conway has trained hundreds of chiropractic interns since graduating in 1997. He describes his chiropractic practice as a traditional, family-based practice; caring for patients of all ages. He has a focus on treating endurance athletes, runners, cyclists, swimmers and helping every level of athlete perform better. He enjoys the diversity of his practice and appreciates the trust and confidence his patients have put in him through the years.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Conway enjoys hiking and fishing in the BWCA as well as coaching and playing baseball with his two sons. Through all season, he and his wife enjoy running with friends and neighbors.
Dr. Adam Sagedahl, or Dr. Adam as many of his patients call him, grew up in central Minnesota in the town of Spicer where he attended New London-Spicer High School. His undergraduate education was done at St. John's University in Collegeville, Minnesota where he received a bachelor of arts degree in biology in 2000. Dr. Adam then went on to Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, Minnesota where he received his Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) degree in 2003. He began his chiropractic career at the Loretto Chiropractic Clinic in Loretto, Minnesota before joining the Uptown Natural Care Center in Minneapolis in October of 2004.
A main focus of Dr. Adam's treatment involves discussing with his patients the necessity of a healthy lifestyle. He knows that everything we do has consequences, whether that be eating a poor diet or simply sitting too much in a desk at work. Dr. Adam enjoys teaching his patients the simple 'little things' a person can do to create a much healthier overall lifestyle. Prevention is a key focus of treatment and Dr. Adam believes that is what true 'Health Care' should be.
At UNCC Dr. Adam utilizes many different chiropractic adjusting techniques including Diversified or manual adjusting, Activator and Thompson Drop. Since graduating from chiropractic school he has completed further education to receive certification in injury rehabilitation. Dr. Adam treats a large variety of neuromusculoskeletal injuries including low back pain, neck pain, headaches, carpal tunnel syndrome and enjoys helping people get back on their feet after auto or work-related injuries.
Outside of chiropractic, Dr. Adam enjoys playing basketball and is a member of a Hopkins/Minnetonka city league team sponsored by Full Motion Fitness in Hopkins, which is a full gym and personal training center owned by his brother Dustin Sagedahl. Much of Dr. Adam's free time is devoted to his daughter, Sophie, who was born in July of 2010 and his wife, Sara.
Dr. Jenna Boren received her bachelor of arts degree in Biology and Education from Saint Olaf College in Northfield, MN and her doctor of chiropractic from Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, MN. Certified in Active Release Technique (A.R.T.) and chiropractic care, Jenna treats a wide spectrum of ailments including repetitive use and athletic injuries.
As a runner and active person, Jenna understands the importance of maintaining optimal health and performing at our individual best. Chiropractic care and soft tissue work can be very helpful for a tight foot, stiff neck, or just to maintain an active body.
Certified in Active Release Technique (A.R.T) since 2003, she began her focus on soft tissue in chiropractic school and continues this today. She uses A.R.T. to manage repetitive stress injuries, muscle strains and sprains as well as preventing injury.
Having coached at all different levels, Jenna is energized by seeing people reach their desired goals whether it be to finish a 5K, lose weight, compete at a professional level, or prevent/manage injury related to repetitive use in the workplace. She likes to see people excel! She has worked with many people including athletes and entertainers from the beginner to the professional.
It is her belief that many of the injuries, particularly within endurance sports, are related to repetitive use combined with dysfunctional movement patterns or weaknesses. It is her interest to continue to explore further evaluation techniques to identify and develop the most functional movement and prevent injury. She continues to develop her evaluation skills and also recognizes the importance of coordinating care with other health care providers.
In her spare time, Jenna enjoys doing anything outdoors, watching and cheering at events, running. She most recently qualified for the 2012 USA Olympic trials in the marathon.
